Windows Server is licensed separately. Windows images deploy with Microsoft's evaluation edition, and no Windows licence is included in the plan price. If you bring your own, Microsoft only permits a licence with active Software Assurance or a subscription licence to be used on shared hosting hardware like ours — OEM, retail and volume licences without Software Assurance do not qualify. Linux images carry no licence fee.
