Quick comparison
Debian / Ubuntu — best choice for most users. Package management with apt. Ubuntu ships with slightly newer packages; Debian prioritises stability.
AlmaLinux / Rocky — binary-compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Use if your application requires an RPM-based system or RHEL-specific tooling. Package management with dnf.
Windows Server — required for IIS, MSSQL, or ASP.NET apps. Licensing is included in the plan price. Connect using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) on port 3389.
Reinstalling
You can reinstall the OS at any time from the Settings tab in the server control panel. All data on the disk will be wiped.
